Radish, the housing cluster I share with my friends and their kiddos was just featured in Apartment Therapy.
What I liked is they took time to profile some of the private residences. Often, we focus on the communal spaces, but the setup of the private spaces matters a lot too.
I think something that makes Radish work, particularly in this stage of life, is having different unit types to fit different needs. There are more private ($$) and less private ($) options depending on preference and need. This allows us to house a mix of families, single and coupled folks all in the same community.
We have 10 different units in the cluster - ranging from standalone single family homes, apartment units, and one building with more traditional coliving (shared bathrooms, kitchen). The “Blueberry” our communal building is standalone … no one lives there ... which means there are no noise issues.
Here are some of the spaces featured by Apartment Therapy:
Carmen and Osman’s 2br/2ba ADU which we built from scratch and they designed themselves for their newborn Io
Craig and Stef’s 1br apartment unit
Danielle and David’s 1br apartment unit
They even took some pics of our guest RV.
