From the editors: our focus at Supernuclear is generally to profile projects that are up and running or ran in the past. We share hard earned lessons of what works (and doesn’t) to help people start or improve on their journey of living near friends.
That being said, we hear about so many interesting projects from our subscribers! So we wanted to give space for you to pitch projects you’re working on. We’ll do these round-ups once in a while, so feel free to send us your projects at hi@gosupernuclear.com.
Field School of Hvar (Croatia)
The Field School of Hvar is a slow travel program for families on the Adriatic coast of Croatia. Our goal is to offer parents and other people with children a radically more sustainable and socially enriching way to approach both the summer childcare gap and stressful family vacations.
+ This summer (June-August 2024), we are launching a day camp for kids 4-12. Prices start at €3/hr for full-time childcare. Led by experienced teachers, the program is a nature- and play-based, learner-led, and interdisciplinary exploration of science topics, through the lens of our island's Mediterranean landscape and culture. Families book their own accommodations, with typical costs ranging from €2,500-4,500/mo. We will host informal gatherings for parents.
+ This fall (September-October) we will expand the pilot to include family co-living accommodations, combining private apartments with communal shared spaces. September will celebrate Hvar's traditions of natural winemaking and sailing. October will center on the olive harvest and rock climbing. Accommodations will be basic but affordable.
+ In summer 2025, we will run a flagship program with higher-end accommodations and a full event program for adults, including outings and wellness classes, as well as an enhanced children's program.

Node Coliving (Spain)
Join a thriving creative coliving community in Madrid!
We are excited to announce an opportunity for our members that can be life-changing. This year, our partner Node Living is opening two large residential communities in Madrid, which will be the home for 2,000+ entrepreneurs, artists, freelancers and thought leaders!
Living at the Node Hubs is the ideal opportunity for anyone who wants to find a year-long home in a striving creative community. You will gain access to coworking, gym, padel courts and swimming pools, hundreds of yearly events and an international community of great humans!
But what we’re most excited about, is that you can also apply to become a Node Creator and take on a leading community role: host events in your area of expertise, while benefiting from rent discount, promotion of your services to the community and represent your tribe.
We highly recommend having a look at this program.
La Maison (Switzerland)
Tldr : intergenerational co-living habitation community in Switzerland, for ~30 humans (20 adults, 10 kids – currently a work in progress)
We’re currently a core group of a dozen humans, with a validated legal entity (coopérative d’habitation), and a financial model. We're currently considering a marvelous property 30min north from Lausanne, and slowly putting together the pieces so it can become concrete... We’re looking for a few more people (families, solos, couples, trouples..) to join the adventure
(a) either as full-time residents
(b) or as cooperators-visitors : min. 30kCHF loan or investment on which who’d get annual ROI + annual weeks to visit. These loans and investments allow us to maintain diversity in the residents.

Timeline : We met the landlord and will be making the offer on the house in March so are ideally looking for first intentions/commitment by early March.
