From the editors: at Supernuclear we generally profile projects that are up and running or ran in the past. We share hard earned lessons of what works (and doesn’t) to help people start or improve on their journey of living near friends.
That being said, we hear about so many interesting projects from our subscribers! So we wanted to give space for you to pitch things you’re working on. We’ll do these round-ups once in a while - if you’d like to submit your project, please fill out this form.
Disclaimer: we do not know most of these subscribers personally, and we can’t vouch for the legitimacy of any project. A few are looking for investment and we recommend you do your own due diligence.
Decentered Arts’s Eventracker
There’s so much happening in the Bay, it’s hard to keep up. That’s where Decentered’s Eventracker comes in. It began in 2024 with me manually entering events into a Google spreadsheet, which gained a following. Friends helped build a webpage (events.decentered.org) and RSS feed (https://events.decentered.org/feeds/rss.xml). We now get hundreds of views each month. It’s still mostly me curating, but anyone can submit events via the Google form at the top of the site.
As of April 1, 2025, we’ve tracked over 3,000 events. We want the Bay Area to thrive and for people to show up for each other. Eventracker is intended to be a tactical tool to enable that.
Decentered Arts is a San Francisco-based nonprofit building resilient communities through all mediums of art. Besides Eventracker, we host 100+ events per year, publish books, soft-launched a record label, and have a new culture blog and website on the way. To support us, please use and share the tracker or donate (cash, stock, or crypto).
Family-centric Community at The Field School of Hvar
June 1 - October 31 (in sessions ranging from 1-8 weeks long)
The Field School of Hvar is a family slow travel program on a bucolic Mediterranean island that is building a year-round community centered on an innovative lab school. The goal is to create a blueprint for inclusive rural revitalization through in-migration of families fed up with the barriers to child and parent well-being in the US and other "rich" economies. Find out more at fieldschoolhvar.org.
GodParent Village, Central PA
We're gathering interest to form a family-centered, ecumenical Christian intentional housing community in Southern York County, PA—within commuting distance to Baltimore, MD, and York, PA.
Imagine raising your children in a close-knit community alongside the very adults you would trust as godparents in times of crisis. Our influences include #benedictoption #newmonasticism #Acts2 #oneanother #lifetogether. As part of our vision, we plan to seek religious exemptions from FHA regulations to uphold our faith-based mission.

Rooted Northwest (Washington State, USA)
We’re inviting new homebuyers to join a forming cohousing community on a 240-acre regenerative farm in western Washington.
If you’re excited about:
+ Building a tight-knit community supported by empathetic communication and sociocracy
+ Collectively stewarding hundreds of acres of farmland and forest
+ Supporting regenerative farmers and sustainable food systems, and/or
+ Living intergenerationally and raising kids in community…
We’d love to meet you!
At Rooted Northwest, each household will own a private home in a walkable village, and we’ll share a common house and all outdoor spaces.
This project is several years in the making - we’ve already purchased the land, passed a unique county ordinance to allow rural clustered housing, and received our preliminary platt to begin construction. It’s the perfect time to become a member and reserve one of the 40 homes in our first village.

Wanna commune with us in NYC?
We’re two friends who have lived communally for the past decade and just signed a contract to buy a beautiful Victorian house in Ditmas, Brooklyn to start a new collective house. Our approach tends toward shared decision making, with a focus on reciprocity, commitment, and intention rather than unshakable, overly formalized structures. We hope to share food and meals, to collaborate on projects large and small, to play music and make art, and to open the doors to friends and neighbors often. We anticipate moving into the house in late summer 2025. We’re looking for 3-4 people who are excited about collaborative living and want to form this new home with us, as medium or long-term tenants—and maybe in certain situations, eventually, co-owners. If your interest is piqued, we’d love to talk in more depth and see if it’s a good fit! Please email ameliaschonbek@gmail.com for more details.
AOMA - an eco-positive Coliving and Coworking in Portugal
AOMA is an eco-positive coliving space in Portugal’s surf Mecca, Ericeira, designed from the ground up for a location flexible lifestyle.
Inspired by the Japanese concept of "Ma," translated as the “space in between,” AOMA aims to help guests recharge and reconnect with themselves, each other, and nature through the deliberate acts of pausing while living and working remotely in a stunning Portuguese coastal village.
We’re inviting a global community of aligned investors to join us for this Community Round —starting at just $100. We have already raised over €600K in equity and will start construction in July to open doors Summer 2026.
If AOMA is the kind of project you’ve always wanted to exist, now’s your chance to help build it! More details here.

Seeking conversations about friendship in intentional communities
I am writing a book about the politics of friendship, and the structural factors (capitalism, individualism, etc) that make it harder for us to have the types of lives and relationships we desire.
I am interested in interviewing people who live in more communal housing situations than most North Americans do, to hear about how it affects the way your life and relationships are set up.
The interviews could take place by video chat, phone, or in writing. You would be able to review anything that you have said that goes into the book, and have total edit/veto power over it, and to be quoted with your name, a pseudonym, or anonymously, whatever you are comfortable with.
About me: I’m a nonbinary white person in my late 30s, living in Montreal. My day job is in supporting co-operative and affordable housing, and my own life has been greatly enriched by living with roommates, but I’ve never lived in a more ‘formal’ coliving situation, although I hope to at some point!
You can reach me at lee@sheerspite.ca if you would like to talk or ask any questions about this project.

I run something that's sort of like SF's Decentered Event Lister, but for NYC: http://socialfabric.nyc.
It's a lot easier to maintain because I only link out to the hosts of the potential events and let viewers decide how they want to subscribe to each.
Thank you for your coverage of Rooted NW! We have several people signed up for our next information session that listed you as their source. One question we have been discussing is how to bring people together interested in cobuying. Could you possibly have an article describing how people might find potential cobuyers if none of their friends or family are interested?
